They are a way of thinking that provides an equitable use for people of all ages and mobility. We have a Universal Design Certified Professional (UDCP) on staff, and our and our President holds a Masters Degree in Aging and Dementia-related disease research. No other firm in the area can design and build/remodel a space with more understanding of the needs of individuals requiring greater accessibility.
What is Universal Design?
At Strobel Design Build, we believe that requiring greater accessibility in your home should not limit your ability to have a luxury home. That’s where universal design comes in to play.
Universal design is “design that is usable by all people, to the greatest extent possible, without the need for adaptation or specialized design.”
Examples of implementing Universal Design into your home with Strobel Design Build may include adding contrasting edge-bands to counters, adjusting countertop heights, or expanding doorways entrance sizes. These are just a few examples of how we can implement Universal Design.
